Ain't nuthin' like the real thing . . . .

There ain't nuthin' like New Orleans JazzFest. no way, no how . . . and what would be better to kick it off than a little JJ 'Cool' Davis in the Gospel Tent . . .

Followed later on by the sweet voice of Aaron Neville on the Gospel Stage in his first appearance in New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina . . . welcome home Aaron . . .

Then there was the happy music and antics of Kermit Ruffin, makin' everybody feel welcome and sassy . . .

Naturally there's visitors . . . Pearl and The Two Janes from The Big Apple . . . there ain't nuthin' like the real thing, gyrls . . . . .

Young Mr. Derek Trucks. Damn, take me back, take me back, to the Allman Brothers and Dickie Betts. He's gettin' there . . .

And we gotta have Randy Newman singing, of course, Louisiana 1927 . . . when it rained all day and rained all night . . .

Finally, the end of a long hot day . . .whew . . . . . . come on tomorrow . . . . .
